The Autodesk Foundation: wrote and edited blog posts, customer stories and case studies on how social enterprises leverage Autodesk resources to scale solutions to inequality and climate change.

Democracy Fund’s Digital Democracy Initiative: Conducted research, editing and ghostwriting on research, policy and advocacy efforts to improve the digital public square, including website copy, blog posts, and weekly email newsletter.

Membership Puzzle Project: edited case studies and newsletters about how newsrooms around the world are building new membership models to sustain quality journalism.

Milagros Phillips : worked closely with workplace belonging expert Milagros Phillips and her business team on design, marketing and delivery of her public webinars and customized trainings.

  • Created custom promotional graphics for social and email, 1-pagers and client proposals using Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and stock photography services

The Local News Lab (a project of Democracy Fund): researched and wrote case studies, co-edited and wrote copy for website and weekly Local Fix email newsletter for 3,000+ journalists, researchers and philanthropists.

Taught courses in communications history and theory: COMM-359 Decisive Moments in Communication and COMM-100 Understanding Media. Utilized online learning management system Canvas and Zoom to coordinate class sessions, provide feedback on student work, and facilitate small group discussions for upwards of 45 students per class around the world from a range of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.

M.A. Journalism and Public Affairs (2019)

  • Conducted archival research for Professor W. Joseph Campbell’s book Lost in a Gallup: Polling Failure in U.S. Presidential Elections.
  • Produced and hosted TenleyTalk, a podcast for the AU graduate school community.
  • As President of School of Communication Graduate Student Council, managed yearly budget, recruited, hired and managed four council officers, worked with school administrators to communicate needs and priorities of graduate students, reported to President of university-wide Graduate Student Council.

M.S. Education (2014)

University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pa.

  • Coursework included extensive research and writing on the neuroscience of learning, curriculum design and instructional techniques, and the history and culture of schools in America.
  • Designed and conducted field research in schools on student learning and institutional culture, collaborating with U Penn academic advisors, gathering observational and interview data, and creating comprehensive written reports.

B.A. History (2012)

Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H.

  • Studied the history of colonialism around the world and civil rights movements in America, along with coursework in Anthropology, Gender Studies, and Comparative Literature.
  • Conducted ethnographic research on white Afrikaner identity development in post-Apartheid South Africa with the School for International Training.
  • Wrote weekly essays on student life, social issues, and politics for The Dartmouth as a Senior Columnist.
